People keep asking if Black Desert is a scam… and honestly, if you don’t know what you’re getting into, we get why.
It’s not cheap.
It’s intimidating.
And it definitely doesn’t feel like your local muni.
But after playing it twice, we can confidently say this:
Black Desert is one of the most unique golf experiences out there.

An Amusement Park — But for Golfers
We were talking about it the other day and realized something clicked:
Black Desert is basically an amusement park for golfers.
Not Disney adults… golf adults.
From the moment you arrive, everything feels elevated. This isn’t just a round of golf — it’s a full-on experience.
-
Incredible food
-
Unreal practice facilities
-
TrackMan on the range
-
Massive putting green where you can create just about any putt imaginable
It sets the tone immediately. You know you’re in for something different.

A Course That Will Absolutely Test You
Let’s be honest — Black Desert can be a bruiser.
There’s black lava rock everywhere. And if you’re not hitting fairways, you’re not just in trouble… you’re losing golf balls. A lot of them.
But weirdly?
That’s part of the fun.
Every shot demands your attention. Every hole feels intentional. And somehow, even when things go sideways, the course still keeps you smiling.
First Tee Nerves? Totally Normal
Standing on the first tee at Black Desert can mess with your head a little — especially when you know what the green fee is.
If that first swing isn’t perfect, don’t panic.
The caddies are awesome. Super friendly, super helpful, and they make the entire experience feel lighter. We loved ours both times and genuinely felt like they added to the day instead of making it feel stuffy or intimidating.

Signature Holes Everywhere
Some courses have one or two standout holes.
Black Desert?
It feels like every hole is a signature hole.
The contrast of green fairways against black lava rock, red mountains in the distance, and insane elevation changes makes it one of the most visually striking courses we’ve ever played.
You’ll want your phone out. Constantly.
Don’t Skip the Turn (Trust Us)
Quick but important note:
The food at the turn is a must.
-
Fish tacos
-
Dole Whip
-
Churros
This isn’t “grab a hot dog and keep moving” energy. This is part of the experience — and it absolutely delivers.

Wind, Chaos, and Still an Unreal Day
The first time we played Black Desert, we got hit with 50 mph winds on the back nine.
It was chaos.
Balls moving on the green. Shots going nowhere near where we aimed. Total survival golf.
And somehow?
We laughed the entire time and still walked away thinking, “Yeah… that was unreal.”
The second time we played?
Perfect conditions. Calm. Beautiful. Exactly what you picture when you think “bucket list golf.”
Both rounds were unforgettable for totally different reasons.
So… Is Black Desert Worth It?
Yeah — it’s a hefty price tag.
But think of it this way:
-
Amusement park pricing
-
No hour-long lines
-
Food included
-
Elite conditions
-
Golf on one of the most beautiful courses we’ve ever seen
It’s not something you do every weekend — but it’s absolutely something you have to experience at least once.
