My wife and I were celebrating our 1-year anniversary and she suggested selling at a local market. We signed up for that and had tons of guys visit our booth that were bored looking at booths only their wife would enjoy.

We had our original 'The Course is Calling' sweater made for me and my wife to wear at a fall market, selling divot tools. The O.G. crewneck was a blank from a chain retailer that we had embroidered by an amazing lady I found on Facebook Marketplace. After receiving the finished product I couldn't stop designing new clothes.

Investing in a new venture is scary, especially with your first baby on the way. We learned about print-on-demand and tried that because the investment is very little, but we didn't love the product. We wanted to create an entire brand with limited drops each month and print-on-demand just didn't make sense.

We had our first baby and although we were prepared, it rocked our world. I still had a lot of work with my full-time job and we put Yippy Golf on pause. I was still thinking about clothing designs all the time and hoped to get it going for real.

Two years after we started, I felt like we needed to really go after this. Every time I wore our first sweater design, I got compliments from different people so I knew the designs could succeed. My wife and I decided to make the investment and we started designing our first real drop and ordered samples from different manufacturers.
